Agricultural Holdings Act 1986 (C. 5)
To consolidate the enactments relating to agricultural holdings.  

Functions exercisable solely by WAG or the National Assembly for Wales.

The Ministerial functions which are exercisable solely by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales are:
  • section 2: Approval of letting of agricultural land other than for year to year.
  • section 7: Regulations prescribing model clauses in agricultural tenancies relating to the maintenance and repair of fixed equipement.
  • section 82: Approval of scheme relating to a smallholding enabling section 15 of the Act (right of tenant to dispose of produce and crops) not to apply to the holding.
  • sections 85-87: Issue of orders charging the holding with payment of amount due to a tenant for compensation or repayment to landlord.
  • section 91: Power to vary the provisions of Schedule 7 (compensation payable for long term improvements) Schedule 8 (compensation payable for short term improvements) Schedule 10 (market garden improvements) to be let.
  • Schedule 3, Part I case H: Notice by Minister to quit land owned by him.
  • section 6 paragraphs 4 and 5: Powers relating to prescription of units of production relating to agricultural land in relation to applications for new agricultural tenancies).
