Agriculture Act 1947 (C. 48)
To establish Agricultural Land Tribunals, to enable land to be acquired by a Minister to enable its efficient use; to control pests and weeds.  

Functions exercisable solely by WAG or the National Assembly for Wales.

The following Ministerial functions are exercisable solely by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales namely:
  • section 74: Proceedings before an Agricultural Land Tribunal on a Minister reference.
  • sections 84-94: Acquisition whether compulsory or by agreement of land by Minister for the purpose of agriculture.
  • section 95: Ministerial power to direct that land shall be ceased for specific purposes.
  • section 98-101: Ministerial powers to prevent damage to crops, animals etc. by pests.
