Historic Buildings and Ancient Monuments Act 1953 (C. 49)

| To provide for the preservation of buildings of outstanding or historic interest. |

Functions exercisable solely by WAG or the National Assembly for Wales. |
All the Ministerial functions under this Act are exercisable solely by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales namely:- section 3: Power of Historic Buildings Council for Wales to advise the Minister.
- sections 4 and 4A: Power to give and to recover grants for preservation of historic buildings, their contents and adjoining land.
- section 5: Power to acquire historic buildings, contents and adjoining land.
- section 6: Power to give grants to local authorities and the National Trust for the acquisition of historic buildings.
- section 8: Power to give endowments for historic buildings.
