National Heritage Act 1980 (C. 17)
To make provisions for matters relating to the heritage.  

Functions exercisable solely by WAG or the National Assembly for Wales.

The only Ministerial functions under this Act exercisable solely by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales are : sections 9 (except the function of the Secretary of State as a recipient of property transferred to him pursuant to a direction made under subsection (2) and except subsection (6)), 16 and 16A.
  • section 9: Disposal of property accepted by Inland Revenue Commissioners.
  • section 9(2) and 9(6): A Minister may direct that any property accepted in satisfaction of tax, may be transferred to any institution or body including the Secretary of State listed in section 3 (Grants and loans from the fund) which is willing to accept it. - The Ministers shall lay before Parliament as soon as may be after the end of each financial year a statement giving particulars of transfer made in that year.
  • section 16: Indemnities for objects on loans. A Minister may indemnify any institution, body or person for the loss of, or damage to, any object belonging to that institution, body or person falling under that section.
  • section 16A: Secretary of State to prepare an annual report on indemnities given under section 16.
