Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000 (C. 34)

Amends:

Race Relations Act 1976 (C. 74)
Immigration and Asylum Act 1999 (C.33)

To extend further the application of the Race Relations Act 1976 to the police and other public authorities; to amend the exemption under that Act for acts done for the purpose of safeguarding national security; and for connected purposes.

Functions exercisable solely by WAG or the National Assembly for Wales.

The Ministerial functions under this Act which are exercisable solely by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales are:

section 76: (government appointments outside the employment field) of the 1976 Act. It gives the Welsh Ministers the power to make a recommendation, or give an approval regarding government appointments outside the employment field and also sets limitations on these powers.
