Conservation of Seals Act 1970 (C. 30)
To provide for the conservation of seals on land and in adjacent territorial waters.  

Functions exercisable solely by WAG or the National Assembly for Wales.

The following Ministerial functions under this Act are exercisable solely by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales namely:
  • section 3: Power to prohibit the killing or taking of seals.
  • section 10: Power to licences to kill or take seals for certain purposes.
  • section 11: Power to authorise entry on land.
  • section 13: Power to receive advice from the Natural Environment Research Council.
