To register the use of radioactive substances and to authorise their disposal and accumulation.

Functions exercisable solely by WAG or the National Assembly for Wales.

The following Ministerial functions under this Act are exercisable solely by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales namely:

section 23: Directions to the Environment Agency as to how it is to deal with applications for authorisations to use or dispose of radioactive waste.
section 24: Power to direct the applications be dealt with by the Secretary of State.
section 30: Power to provide facilities for disposal or accumulation of radioactive waste.
section 38: Power to authorise prosecutions under the Act.
