To make further provision relating to the National Health Service.  

Functions exercisable solely by WAG or the National Assembly for Wales.

The only ministerial functions exercisable solely by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales under this Act are: sections 7, 8, 17(1)(d) and 23.
  • section 7: extension of powers of the Secretary of State for financing the Health Service;

[As inserted by the Health and Social Care Act 2001:

  • section 7A: Power when exercising its powers under section 7, of the Welsh Ministers and of other NHS bodies, to form, invest in and otherwise make financial provisions in relation to companies.]
  • section 8: duties of the Secretary of State relating to the retirement of practitioners;
  • section 17(1) (d): the power of the Secretary of State to make provisions regarding general medical services, general dental services etc. which correspond with Part II of the National Health Service Regulations 1974;
  • section 23: power of the Secretary of State to make regulations relating to HIV testing kits and services.
