Mental Health Act 1959 (C. 72)
Amended by:Inquiries Act 2005 (c. 12)
 
To make provision for the treatment and care of mentally disordered persons and for their property and affairs.  

Functions exercisable solely by WAG or the National Assembly for Wales.

All the Ministerial functions under this Act are exercisable solely by the Welsh Ministers in relation to Wales namely:
  • section 142: Default powers.

revoked by Inquiries Act 2005.

However there are no substantive powers remaining in this Act which has mostly been repealed by later Acts.
