Contaminants in Food (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations 2005 No. 1629 (W. 123) OPSI - Contaminants in Food (Wales) (Amendment) Regulations
Summary: These Regulations, which apply in relation to Wales and amend the Contaminants in Food (Wales) Regulations 2005 (S.I. 2005/364 (W.31)), provide for the enforcement of the requirements of :
(a) Commission Regulation (EC) No 655/2004 amending Regulation (EC) No 466/2001 (OJ No L77, 16.3.2001, p.1) as regards nitrate in foods for infants and young children; and
(b) Commission Regulation (EC) No 683/2004 amending Regulation (EC) No 466/2001 as regards aflatoxins and ochratoxin A in foods for infants and young children.

Made Under: Food Safety Act 1990 (C. 16) - sections 16(1)(a), (e) and (f), 17(1) and (2), 26(1)(a), (2)(e) and (3), and 48(1), having had regard, in accordance with section 48(4A) of that Act, to relevant advice given by the Food Standards Agency, and after consultation as required by Article 9 of Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down the general principles and requirements of food law, establishing the European Food Safety Authority and laying down procedures in matters of food safety
