National Blood Authority and United Kingdom Transplant (Abolition) Order 2005 No. 2531

Summary:

This Order abolishes on 1st October 2005, the National Blood Authority and United Kingdom Transplant Special Health Authorities established under section 11 of the National Health Service Act 1977.
The Order revokes the Orders and Regulations specified in Schedule 1 (article 2) and makes the consequential amendments referred to in Schedule 2 (article 3).
The Order also makes provision for the transfer of rights, liabilities and property of the abolished Special Health Authorities and the transfer of staff from those Authorities to a Special Health Authority to be known as NHS Blood and Transplant to be established on 1st October 2005.

National Health Services Act 1977 (C. 49) - 11(1), (2) and (4) and 126(3) and (4) after consultation with such bodies as she recognises represent officers who in her opinion are likely to be transferred or affected by transfers in pursuance of the Order
