Closures Guidance (Railway Services in England and Wales) Order 2006 No. 2836

Summary:

This Order gives effect to the closures guidance which is required to be published by the Secretary of State and by the Secretary of State jointly with the National Assembly for Wales.
The closures guidance relates to the following proposals:
(a) proposals to discontinue any service or services in England only or in Wales only;
(b) proposals to discontinue any service or services part of which are in England and part of which are in Wales;
(c) proposals to discontinue a network or part of a network that is wholly in England or wholly in Wales;
(d) proposals to discontinue a network or part of a network part of which is in England and part of which is in Wales; and
(e) proposals to discontinue the use or operation of any station or part of a station in England or Wales.

Made Under:

Railways Act 2005 (c.14) - sections 43(3)(c) and 56(5). In accordance with section 43(4) of that Act, the National Assembly for Wales has consented to the making of this Order in relation to the proposals referred to in article 2(1).
