Part VI of the Housing Act 1996 is concerned with the allocation of housing accommodation by local housing authorities. The Allocation of Housing (England) Regulations 2000 prescribe cases for the purposes of section 160 of the 1996 Act and prescribe classes for the purposes of section 161. They also prescribe information for the purposes of section 162 and prescribe requirements for the purposes of section 163. These Regulations provide for those provisions of the Allocation of Housing (England) Regulations 2000 to have effect in Wales, and revoke in relation to Wales the Allocation of Housing Regulations 1996 and Regulations which amended them.
